For the first part of the summer project I will be using the 2001 horror film The Others, starring Nicole Kidman. The film takes place in a isolated manor house just after WW2. The story centres around a mother and her two sick children who, along with three servants at the manor, start to experience a number of odd events and the idea that they are not alone.
I have watched this film many times and think that with its minimal lighting and unusual camera shots it would be good to draw from.
I will try to pick out 18 frames with varied viewpoints, lighting and pace which, with varied use of media, will show the dark and eerie atmosphere of this film.
